Fresh produce is at the heart of our Juice Bar. We receive fresh produce several times a week from local suppliers. We buy organic when possible and prefer local farmers as the seasons permit. Because the produce is fresh and never frozen, you not only get full taste, you also get the full benefits of fresh, raw, unprocessed, live food including pre & pro biotics as well as intact plant enzymes, vitamins & minerals. We cut and serve our produce daily to offer you the best juicing experience possible. If don’t cut it, we won’t serve it.
“We don’t centrifuge our juice”
Centrifugal juicers remain the most popular and fastest form of obtaining juice from produce. Unfortunately, the process is heat intensive, it oxygenates the juice (creating oxidation & loss of nutrients) and it is wasteful. Centrifugal juicing can lose as much as 20% of the juice yield and 75% of the nutrients in fresh produce. At nutricentro, our juices are cold pressed.
“We don’t use pasteurization, High Pressure Processing, or preservatives”
Pasteurized juices are boiled at temperatures of 160-180 Fahrenheit. This results in a loss of vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants, and taste. High Pressure Processing (HPP) is a cold form of pasteurization that applies up to 87,000psi of pressure to bottled juice. This process kills live enzymes and beneficial organisms in fresh juice. Sodium Benzoate, potassium sorbate, dimethyl dicarbonate, citric acid, dimethylpolysiloxane and dozens of others are routinely added to canned and bottled juices. We don’t use pasteurization, High Pressure Processing, or preservatives in our juices.
